Quarantine Date Ideas
Fridays are one of our favorite days and we’re not letting go of date night for that reason! It can be easy to overlook date night when we’re quarantined inside our homes, but it’s so important that we find creative and intentional ways to spend quality time with one another. Whether you’re married, in a relationship, or even seeing someone brand new, these ideas are perfect dates for nurturing your relationship in the midst of a world in crisis. Check out these fun dates that you’ll want to make a tradition even after quarantine is all over!
1. Dine Separately
If your date isn’t physically with you for quarantine, send a food delivery to each other so you can dine from your favorite menus! Light some candles and dress up as if you were on a date, then enjoy conversing and dining with each other through a video chat. If you are home together, you can still get each other food + make it a surprise if you’re feeling adventurous!
2. Reminisce
Take the time to rummage through old boxes and reminisce about good times. Go through old photos or sentimental items together on a video call or together and have fun skipping down memory lane. This can be a great way to get to know each other on a deeper level and open the door for great conversation!
3. Indoor Camping
It’s as simple as it sounds. You can either set up a tent in the living room or grab some chairs + blankets to make a fort! Then enjoy your favorite camp food, like roasting hot dogs and s’mores over the stove! You could even grab a few games or pop in a movie to watch from your little abode. Make it yours and make it fun with whatever activity suits you.
4. Backyard/Park Picnic
Weather permitting, sometimes a picnic is a cozy date idea that is sure to get you out of the house! Pack a small meal to take, find a park or head to your own backyard, and eat outside together. Either take a lunch break at the same time in the middle of your work day or have a cool evening picnic and enjoy the sunset as you eat. Whatever you choose, we’re sure you’ll have a blast.
5. Delivery Taste-Off
Do you love french fries? Why not pick up french fries from six separate restaurants and have a taste-off back at home? Determine which french fries (or whatever food you’d like) are the very best with your significant other. This is a fun way to get to know each other's tastes and be able to try your favorite foods from lots of different places. You could have a taste-off with cookies, burritos, chicken sandwiches, anything you want! Have fun with it!
6. Get Active
Having an active date night is the perfect way to get your body moving after sitting inside all day. There are so many options here! Take a run, rent a tandem bike and venture down a bike trail, find new hiking trails, or take a walk together to pick up dinner from a local restaurant. Find something you enjoy doing and get moving with your date.
7. Club Quarantine
Have you noticed how musicians and DJs are taking to Instagram Live during these quarantine days? Giving thousands of people hours of free music, it’s the perfect time to get dressed up, turn the lights down low, and turn your speakers up high! Jump on social media to find out when your favorite artist's next set is happening and have a fun night dancing from home!
8. Movie or Show Marathon
Let’s be honest, we’ve already been binge watching our favorite movies and TV shows since lockdown started, but it’s still fun to cuddle up and have a marathon with your significant other. Even if you’re not physically together, apps like Netflix Party or Zoom screen share help you sync up your films and give you a chatbox to react together. Either way, sounds like a fun date for the night!
9. Paint Night
Get your artistic juices flowing with a paint night! All you have to do is order materials online and you can enjoy a virtual/at-home date night. Either YouTube a paint night class or totally wing it with your own ideas and imagination. Then show off your creations to each other and on Instagram (so we can see your beautiful work)!
10. Plan Future Dates
We’re all about day-dreaming, so why not start planning future dates?! Make a list of all dates and places to visit together once the shelter in place order is over. Talk about activities and places that excite you and that you want to experience with each other. This helps you get to know each other better and look forward to dates to come!
Can every night be date night?! All of these ideas sound so fun, we may have to have date night more often! We hope you love these quarantine date ideas as much as we do. Which one sounds the most fun to you? Which one will you try first? We’d love to hear which dates you try! Let us know below!
