Our Favorite Board Games
One of the best things about being at home more is game time! Whether your family is into board games, card games, or even video games, there’s something special about gathering together and sharing a game experience. There’s the social dynamic of competition, testing of skills and luck, as well as just enjoying the experience altogether. Needless to say, games are a good time! We asked our ladies at the office what their “go-to” games are when they have the time to play. Here are their choices, just for you!
UNO Flip
If you love UNO, this one has an exciting new twist! Lucero loves UNO Flip because it’s fun and competitive. It doesn’t take too much learning if you’re already familiar with UNO, but it mixes it up just enough to have an entirely new and fun experience!
Pirate’s Cove
Krista loves Pirate’s Cove because it includes both strategy and luck with each round being so different! This game is for you because it’s not totally one or the other - you're either lucky and win or strategic and win. Either way, it’s anyone’s game and something you could play over and over again!
Settlers of Catan
This game is one of Taylor’s favorites - but not at first! Settlers of Catan can be long and a little confusing to start, but once you get the hang of it, the game is super fun! So don’t be intimidated by it at all! You get to build and strategize in order to blow everyone else out of the water. Like Taylor, you may come to love it!
Ticket to Ride
Ticket to Ride is a great game that makes you strategize, which is why Katie loves it. It’s a bit of a longer game, but things get very fun and competitive! Plus, every game is different. Katie loves the USA board but there are other Europe maps to play on as well. Want the game to go even faster? Have everyone in your family download the app and play it virtually - it goes a lot quicker and is super fun!
Trivial Pursuit
If you are one to love random knowledge, Trivial Pursuit is for you! Kylie loves this game because it’s perfect for those who are well-rounded and know a little bit about a lot! Plus, as you play, you learn so much random knowledge that just kind of sticks with you. It’s definitely the perfect game for trivia buffs.
Clue
Ready to play detective and solve that mystery? Lara is! Lara loves Clue because it’s always fun trying to solve the murder. She and anyone else who plays this game uses different strategies to be the first person to figure out what went down. Get to it Sherlock!
Sushi Go!
Maddie loves Sushi Go! Since it’s super easy to learn (a must for many of us) and doesn’t take a lot of strategy. Not only are the cards adorable, but this game is perfect for a big group. The point of this game is to rack up points with the best sushi + plate combos. You’ll have a blast and will surely work up an appetite for some real sushi!
Apples to Apples
Alexis loves Apples to Apples because her family had a tradition to play it every Sunday night! Alexis said it always made her smile when she had that time together with her family. And the best part? It all comes down to knowing the judges. It’s anyone’s game!
